Last August, GardenBenches.com received an email from Sir Elton John’s design team, Banana Split, asking for some of our painted benches. We were more than happy to oblige and so we delivered 8 of our painted lutyens benches to the Grosvenor. Sir Elton John was performing a set for a couple’s wedding reception and he personally requested our benches to be part of the stage set. This wasn’t the first time our benches have been associated with weddings, although it was one of our high profile case studies.
Our garden benches are becoming more commonly used for outdoor wedding events. There is something quintessentially British about being outdoors in the garden on a warm summer’s day and many contemporary brides want to encapsulate this sentiment in their wedding ceremonies. Outdoor wedding ceremonies are becoming more popular and garden benches, with their ability to hold three or four people, have become the chosen seating arrangements. Our Lutyens painted benches are by far our most popular, as their soft colours are rather picturesque and their style offers additional luxury for the guests. It is increasingly becoming a popular tradition and we are proud to be a part of it.
Benches don’t just make an appearance in wedding ceremonies; we have had quite a few orders for our couple’s bench as a wedding gift. Many couple’s don’t register for gifts in England and more often than not, the bride and groom receive an influx of toasters and champagne flutes as presents. These gifts are fine but our customers seem to have started to think outside the box and they want to buy the newlyweds something unique and different.
For those unfamiliar, our couple’s bench has two chairs inclined towards each other with a table in between. It is a beautiful design and what better way to spend time with your partner, than enjoying breakfast or a glass of wine in the garden on a beautiful summer’s day. Our couple’s bench is loved by our customers and its romantic nature has seen it become a popular wedding gift.
