What Finish Should You Use on Your Teak Dining Set?

When it comes to adding a finish to any of our round outdoor dining sets, there are three easy options to choose from. First of all, to retain its natural honey shade, you may want to oil it regularly using a light oil like linseed or a specialist oil with additional protective properties that can also help tackle mildew and fading from the sun.

To alter the colour of the wood slightly or restore it back to its original colour after allowing it weather, you can also stain teak using a special wood stain. Before staining your dining set, you'll need to prep it by cleaning, sanding it down and then applying a sanding sealer to help with absorption. The third option that offers a more unique finish is to paint your teak furniture with a latex or oil based paint. Again, some prep work including sanding and applying a base coat will be needed to ensure beautiful and even results.
