Whether you’re peckish while on the move with a portable Polzeath fire bowl or are firing up the cooking tripod for a group gathering in the garden, we have a recipe for BBQ corn on the cob that will satisfy you at any event.

How To Cook Corn On The Cob On BBQ

Cooking corn on the cob on a BBQ is easy with our recipe. For this recipe, there’s very little prep that you have to do – no brining (soaking your corn in salty water), optional shucking (removing the leafy green exterior) and no boiling. All you have to do is wrap the cobs in a double layer of foil to stop them from burning. Once they’re on the BBQ, you have to turn them regularly for about half an hour to ensure they are cooked well and charred to perfection.

Yummy BBQ Corn on the Cob Recipe

Our delicious BBQ corn on the cob is delicately flavoured with honey and chilli for a delicious clash of flavours. Simple to put together and even simpler to cook, this BBQ corn on the cob will quickly become a family favourite.

You Will Need:

  • 100g room temperature butter
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp tomato ketchup
  • 2 large garlic cloves, crushed
  • 2 tbsp high quality chilli paste
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 6 cobs of corn

How To:

  1. First, make the butter. Mash the butter, honey, ketchup, garlic and chilli paste together in a bowl, then add as much salt and pepper as you’d like. Beat all these ingredients together until smooth. Leave to the side.
  2. Next, cook the cobs. Wrap each of the corn cobs in a double layer of foil and place on the barbecue. Cook for about 30 – 35 minutes, turning regularly until each cob is tender and slightly charred. If you’d prefer them to be darker, you can unwrap them from the foil and place directly onto the barbecue for a maximum of five minutes.
  3. Finally, remove the corn cobs from the barbecue and unwrap the foil. Pile the hot cobs onto a plate and serve them with the butter in a separate bowl. Allow everyone to butter their own so they can control the spicy flavour on their corn.
