He was a loving husband, a great dad, an avid cricket fan and a hardworking businessman. He was also a family friend to our managing director, Edward Sloane, and so when Ed was personally asked to create a memorial bench in Keith\u2019s honour, he couldn\u2019t resist adding a part of Keith\u2019s special and unique personality. Ed always saw Keith wearing \u2018snazzy socks\u2019 and thought it was fitting that the bench should pay tribute in such a way. Brightly coloured socks were a favourite of Keith\u2019s and they are now being produced to raise money in his memory for the Cricket Derbyshire Foundation.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"img-responsive\" src=\"\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/snazzy-socks-mem-bench-post-img2.jpeg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Keith\u2019s wife, Sheena, wanted the bench to stand out and represent his extraordinary character so together with its \u2018snazzy socks\u2019 the bench is painted bright red, Keith\u2019s favourite colour.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"img-responsive\" src=\"\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/snazzy-socks-mem-bench-post-img3.jpeg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"\/memorial-benches\">memorial bench<\/a> was installed at Lullington Cricket Club, the club where Keith was vice-president and where he often watched his sons play cricket. Edward installed the bench on a very important date, Keith and his wife Sheena\u2019s wedding anniversary. Both the date and venue are of exceptional importance to Keith\u2019s relatives and friends and we were honoured to be trusted with such a special duty.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Keith Poynton was popular for various reasons.
