Happy Christmas from GardenBenches.Com
The Christmas period has always been a fond occasion for us here at GardenBenches.Com . Fair enough, we won’t be spending so much time sitting outside with a jug of lemonade and watching the birds fly by but nonetheless, the season is one we just can’t get enough of.
Whether it’s stealing a roast potato from a family member’s plate, failing miserably at the annual game of charades or unsocially nodding off during conversation time, every little aspect of Christmas makes us tingle from head to toe.
For us, nothing can beat the undeniable glee that reverberates around the entire home. Young children frolic in delight with their new toys (or boxes) and the usually moody teenagers seem to manage to crawl out their bedrooms and crack a smile. All this is happening whilst the adults sip a sherry or other suitably festive refreshment and begin to realise that Noel as an adult is even more enjoyable than it was an excitable and expectant youngster.
Do you remember waking up to a plate of crumbs after jolly Old Saint Nick had obviously passed by and took a short break from the arduous labour of circumnavigating the globe and visiting hundreds of millions of homes? Just to sample the food and drink you had provided. That felt great, didn’t it? Who knows, he may have even taken a seat on one of our garden benches!
We used to think that feeling of elation couldn’t be matched, never mind beaten. Once you see the faces of innocent children light up on Christmas morning, that pinnacle of emotion is topped.
That’s not to say that Yuletide as a grownup doesn’t involve receiving some shiny, new gifts! A few of us at GardenBenches.Com don’t have to buy any shower gel or socks all year round after getting a whole heap from uncles, aunties and grandparents. We have even taken orders for garden benches as a present down the years.
Our mouths are virtually drooling just thinking about the buckets of food available at Christmas. Believe it or not, we were out shopping the other day and noticed that chocolate was being sold by the yard! Confectionary measured in distance; only in December! No matter how wide a gullet you have, it’s probably best to steer clear, or at least share at a minimum.
And that’s what Christmas is really about to us at GardenBenches.Com - sharing. Just as we appreciate the joint custody and sitting next to loved ones on garden benches in the summer, the winter brings a whole new level of sharing. We share food, smiles, jokes, gifts and even beds when we’ve one brandy too many and can’t drive home. That’s fine, because no matter how distant we may be from our loved ones December 26th to 24th, we still look forward to seeing them and spending time in their company.
However you and your loved ones are spending Christmas, we wish you all the joy in the world. You never know, you may be opening your very own garden bench come the 25th! I suppose the copious amounts of wrapping paper and the rather unique shape may give the surprise away, though!
From everybody here at GardenBenches.Com, have yourselves a fantastic Christmas and a wonderful New Year.
